Life’s funny and time is too short to do what we don’t love: My name is Cresonia Hsieh, and I’m an aspiring business newspaper reporter.

Currently I’m a journalism junior at the University of Florida honors program specializing in online media and minoring in Spanish and business administration.

While I’ve been known to record audio/video, graphic design and even code (this site was done by me), my two main specialties are writing and photography.

For all the times that pictures aren't enough, at least there's video.

I've had the pleasure of working with incredible editors. Check out what they're saying.

Sparks Magazine

"Cresonia is an exceptionally eager and diligent worker. Even with tasks she has never done before, her determination and responsiveness to constructive criticism make her a quick learner. Her attention to detail, positive attitude and willingness to learn will make her an asset to any organization."

Patricia Potestades
Former Editor in Chief, Sparks Magazine

"Cresonia has been a valuable asset to WUFT News since signing on as a photographer. She is not only talented but also driven and eager for work. Rather than waiting to be called on, she offers her time and makes a point of communicating with our office staff to ensure her time is being spent wisely. Her photos are impeccable, and I've come to trust her ability to collect accurate information to accompany her visuals.

Though predominantly a photographer, Cresonia has also proven to be an effective reporter. Her writing is clear, concise and complete, and she knows how to tell a compelling story.

Overall, Cresonia has been a perfect match for WUFT, and I can't wait to see more work from her in the future."

Katie Campbell
Chief Web Producer, WUFT News

Boca Raton Magazine

"The journalism major at the University of Florida tackled a number of online and print assignments during her time at the magazine; she approached each one with the curiosity and professionalism of a seasoned veteran. Along the way, Cresonia not only was open to criticism, she incorporated the feedback into her work; each story she turned in was better than the last.

We see a bright future for this talented, dedicated young journalist."

Kevin Kaminski
Editor, Boca Raton Magazine

The Gainesville Sun

"She has an innate sense of what she needs to be doing at all times, which is highly unusual, and such a delight for anyone lucky enough to supervise her work. She’s highly driven: She’s a low-key Type A and she not only has a Plan A and a Plan B for how she intends to make a journalism career work, I think she’s probably got a Plan E and a Plan F, too. And most compelling, Cresonia has simply felt a call to journalism, despite the many reasons one her age might look past it as a career option. Even among those already in journalism, that is rare.

I could write a much longer letter outlining her many virtues but instead will just say this: Choose her and she will do your program proud and you won’t feel like kicking yourself a few years down the road"

Mickie Anderson
Assistant Local News Editor, The Gainesville Sun
